Jakub Frączek Is a young classical musician [percussionist] born in Cracow. Jakub was studying percussion in Jan Pilch’s class. Simultaneously he was taking part in courses and workshops. He is laureate of many chamber and solo competitions. In 2008 he won 1st reward in Polish nationwide Competition of Vibraphone in Opole. In 2012, as soloist, he was 3rd award winner of International Competition of Marimba in Nuremberg and 2nd award winner of International Competition o Vibraphone in Fermo. In 2013 and 2014 he performed during 10th International Festival of Percussion „Źródła i Inspiracje” In 2013 in Warsaw, together with Matchwood Duo he won Reward of Minister of Culture and National Heritage. The same year he won all-Polish Competition of Music Interpretation in Przemyśl and he got 3rd position in two categories [Marimba and Snare drum] at International Competition of Percussion for Young Soloists in Athens. In 2015 Jakub was prized with 1st reward in Marimba category during International Competition of Percussion Montebello della Battaglia in Italy. He is 3rd prize winner of 1st International Rising Stars Grand Prix Berlin, Germany 2016, 1st prize of International Music and Earth Competition in Sofia, Bułgaria 2016. Jakub won 1st reward of American Protege International Concerto Competition 2016, Carnegie Hall, New York, USA. Over last few years Jakub was performing as both – solo and chamber musician during various all-Polish and international festivals [Germany, Greece and Italy]. As Marimba solist Jakub performed with: Kalisz Chamber Orchestra, Cracow Music Academy Chamber Orchestra, “Archetti” Orchestra, Cracow Music Academy Choir. As a orchestral musician Jakub took part in innumerous projects such as: – Krakow Film Music Festival, Cracow  -  Jose Carreras Concert, Cracow – International Festival Of Contemporary Music “Warsaw Autumn”, Warsaw – 1st Baroque Operas Festival Drama per musica, Warsaw -Unsound Festival, Cracow He cooperates with: -Beethoven’s Academy Orchestra – Cracow Filharmonic Orchestra – Sinfonietta Cracovia – One-off orchestras directed by Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Leona Craig, Sir Neville Marriner, Christian Shumann, Diego Navarra In 2015 he performed for the first time Tomasz Arnold’s composition “Five voices for Marimba and Cello” – which was dedicated to Jakub and Magdalena Cymer – violoncellist. In 2013 Jakub was granted a scholarship from SAPERE AUSO – Foundation for Young Talented Musicians. He received also a Reward and Scholarship of Minister of Culture and National Heritage.  Artist plays on ADAMS marimba
